Swan 04:48
The sky went red And dripped into my mouth No reason to be pure No angels in this town Play my game Lay down your tears Lay down your pain No need for it here Play my game Wear my ring Take my hand Be my suicide Queen Dive with me Your hands adorned with scars Dive with me Like a swan Like a swan Like the swan you are

Her cathedral painted in red The flesh and the torture In her mouth The sweet taste of narcotics and sutures Loud, wicked, perpetually in love The mark of the faithful Loud, wicked, tearing away the skin of angels Stigmatized in the lace and the feathers Her precious daughter wept at the sound of her name She was left to tear out the stitches She screamed for the butcher to cut out the pain In my head still echoing The sound of her voices In her skin In the field of ashes and roses Left to die in the salt and the sugar As her own precious sisters turned their faces away As the angels bled through their dresses She prayed to the scarecrow To make them fucking pay

about

SUICIDE QUEEN is the succubus that lurks in the darkness - always tempting, seducing, and always ready to slay. Grant, epic soundscapes set the stage for Kay Dolores unmistakable vocals oscillating between an enchanting low, husky growl and punctuated bursts of energy that whip the listener into a frenzy. SUICIDE QUEEN's "Swan" is dripping with violence, sexuality, and understated rage. Beautifully counterpointed by a piano layer that gives the illusion of sanity for some fragile moments, just before the track descents back into the darkness of Kay's twisted mind.
Ira Mortem [Bass] and Todd Buller [Guitar] drive the tracks forward with a powerful array of riffs, playing off the mechanical heart that forms the foundation of this exceptionally gifted trio. John Fryer's hallmark engineering and production skills add a layer of intensity to the tracks that make this single an industrial metal masterpiece.

“Swan was one of the first songs I wrote when Suicide Queen started. I don’t entirely remember if the lyric came from the band name or vice versa, maybe it just happened to fit there in the song. That’s appropriate because Swan is a lot like us. It’s ferocious and punishing, isn’t it? But it could also be mistaken for beautiful. And it ends in death.”

about

Suicide Queen Los Angeles, California

“Suicide Queen is the ritual of turning pain into power. Every slamming drum, every pounding note, and every horrid shriek is part of a ceremony, a new revelation ushered in by deafening noise. It is loud, it is wicked, and it is not kind. In the twin shadows of heartbreak and death, in the absence of salvation, lie sound and sickening fury." ... more
